FurHQ Long-Pinned Slicker Brush
CA$22.00
Made for these coats: Feathered Long Double Coats · Curly Wavy Coats · Drop Coats
For long, flowing, and feathered coats, the Long-Pinned Slicker reaches where shorter pins can’t — the extra length lets it travel through more coat in a single stroke. It works across the groom: in Prep, it lifts loose hair and eases out tangles before a wash without forcing it; it comes in for the final stage of the Dry, brushing the coat out as it finishes bone-dry; and in Finish, a last pass smooths and settles long coat and feathering. Available in two sizes to match your dog and your hand.
Key Benefits
- Reaches through long coats — longer pins travel the full length of flowing and feathered hair
- Made for line-brushing — line-brushing (parting the coat and brushing it section by section) is the core technique for Curly Wavy, Drop, and Feathered Long Double coats, and your Protocol teaches it step by step
- Eases out tangles — lifts and separates without dragging or breaking the coat
- Works the whole groom — brushes out in Prep, comes in for the final stage of the dry, and smooths in Finish
- Two sizes — Small for detail and smaller dogs, Large to cover more ground
Never brush a dry coat — dry-brushing Curly Wavy, Drop, or Feathered Long Double coats causes static and breakage. Always mist with Pawfect Finish Coat Spray first.
- Always mist with Pawfect Finish Coat Spray before you start — never brush these coats dry.
- Line-brush in small sections, brushing each section in the direction of hair growth.
- Use light, flicking strokes — let the longer pins do the reaching.
- Lift each section to brush from the skin outward on dense or feathered areas.
- Follow with your FurHQ comb in Finish to confirm the coat is tangle-free top to bottom.
- Between full protocol days, regular line-brushing keeps long coat and feathering tangle-free between full grooms.
