FurHQ Double Wide Coat Rake
CA$40.00
Made for these coats: Wire Coats · Short Double Coats · Medium Plush Double Coats
The same dead-coat removal as a standard coat rake, on a double-width head that covers more coat with every stroke — the quicker choice for bigger dogs and heavy coats. Stainless steel blades slide into a dry coat and pull out loose, dead undercoat, thinning the coat without cutting its length.
Key Benefits
- Double-width head — covers more coat per stroke, so big dogs take less time
- Pulls out dead undercoat — lifts the loose hair a brush leaves behind
- Thins without cutting — reduces bulk while the coat keeps its natural length
- Four blade counts — Coarse 12 for thick, heavy coats through X-Fine 30 for lighter work
Use on a dry, brushed-out coat only, with light pressure — the blades should never drag on the skin.
- Brush the coat out and make sure it is completely dry.
- Hold the rake at a slight angle and draw it through the coat in the direction of hair growth, using short, light strokes.
- Use it on broad areas like the back and sides, and clear hair from the blades as it builds up.
- Stop once the rake pulls through with little hair coming out, and stay off thin-coated areas like the belly and inner legs.
