FurHQ Coat Rake
CA$38.00
Made for these coats: Wire Coats · Short Double Coats · Medium Plush Double Coats
For coats that hold on to a lot of dead hair. A row of stainless steel blades slides into a dry coat and pulls out the loose, dead undercoat that brushing leaves behind, thinning out a heavy coat without cutting its length. Pick the blade count to suit the coat: fewer blades for thick, heavy coats, more blades for lighter, finer work.
Key Benefits
- Pulls out dead undercoat — lifts the loose hair a brush leaves behind
- Thins without cutting — reduces bulk while the coat keeps its natural length
- Four blade counts — Coarse 8 for thick, heavy coats through X-Fine 20 for lighter work
- Stainless steel blades — built to hold up groom after groom
Use on a dry, brushed-out coat only, with light pressure — the blades should never drag on the skin.
- Brush the coat out and make sure it is completely dry.
- Hold the rake at a slight angle and draw it through the coat in the direction of hair growth, using short, light strokes.
- Work in sections and clear hair from the blades as it builds up.
- Stop once the rake pulls through with little hair coming out, and stay off thin-coated areas like the belly and inner legs.
